Our Christmas Morning

Okay- i know I always say I took a lot of pictures but, I think this is a whole new level...sorry! This was a HUGE day!
Before we get to all the pictures, I just want to say that I knew Christmas would be more fun with kids, especially older kids, but I had no idea that even just having a little baby would multiply the joy and excitement by at least 10! We celebrated our own Christmas morning a few days before the actual Christmas and this year we went all out. I even made my mom's famous Christmas morning breakfast of cinnamon pull aparts and a breakfast casserole. It turned out so yummy! This Christmas was probably my all time favorites, I just felt so happy to be celebrating with my small, beautiful family. Lucy loved it! She was so into it and It just made it so much more fun. I love the feeling of finding the perfect gift for Erik, don't get me wrong, but giving to a child is soo much more rewarding, it's so magical. Anyways- this year definitely made me super excited for the many Christmases to come with little kiddies!

Now for the fun part... Oh before we get started with the morning festivities, I did end up snapping a picture of my first homemade...all by myself gingerbread house. I think it turned out pretty good for the first time. I am happy to carry on the Knudsen tradition of like 30 years!
We had a blast decorating them with our friends the Gibbons and Laytons- unfortunately my pictures are on that blasted memory card I still need to find! But here's for posterity:

Our Christmas morning...

Lined up on the stairs...bursting with excitement!

note to self- now that i am getting older maybe I should actually get ready in the morning before opening presents-just a thought....

I think we were all spoiled rotten this Christmas...and I haven't even blogged about the Fox Christmas! We are so grateful for our wonderful families! I hope you all got what you wanted this Christmas too!

Christmas Party

Christmas time around here can get pretty deserted with many of our friends going home to see family. My good friend Sarah and I decided to take this opportunity to have a party with the ones who were still around. We had yummy food and played some pretty sweet games! We put together a little Minute to Win It competition like from the nbc tv show. It turned out really fun and caused a LOT of laughs all around! Thanks Sarah for the fabulous party! Face the cookie-which I totally won!! lol!
Penny Hose
Quote of the night "I've never been so bad with stockings before!"- Jake haha!
Paper Dragon (Erik won but it came at a high cost-his shoulder hurt for days!)

NYC

Erik's parents were super generous and treated us Fox girls to a day trip to New York City to see the Radio City Rockettes! We went the Friday before Christmas and there is NOTHING like New York City at Christmas time. It was super fun and actually not too cold! first stop- the largest Macy's in the world to search for a mailbox to mail letters to Santa! That was crazy! So crowded...and i think it was like 9 floors! crazy.
The decorated windows outside Macy's is something you CAN NOT miss at Christmas time. They do a different theme/story ever year. They are so neat.
We also made a stop at Bryant park.
And of course walked around times square.
Hershey World was right up my alley!!
Pretty Aunt Jennifer and Jolie!
These are my fellow sweet tooth girls!
Grandma Fox got the Girls American Girl dolls from the HUGE American Girl Place store. It was fun to reminisce from my childhood. I loved those dolls!
With Lisa at Rockefeller center and the huge tree!
And the highlight of the trip....Radio City music Hall to see the Fabulous Rockettes! Wow this show was amazing! Once in a lifetime! I loved it!
Inside Radio City Music Hall..it was GORGEOUS!!! I love my Fox sisters!
Lisa and her girls
We stood by the doors and it was super windy...we had some fun taking some goofy pics!

Big thanks to the Fox's! I had so much fun with the girls! (we missed you Mindy!)

If you ever get a chance to see the big apple at Christmas time...GO! And the Rockette show too...so awesome!

We failed to get a family picture all together in our Christmas outfits...but this will do.

Sidenote: Sorry for the lack in posts. I lost my memory card and I kept hoping I would find it- I guess I am giving up and moving on. lemme tell ya

I have a ton of events to post about, i am feeling way behind. But in the meantime I had to get a few things off my chest that I have been wanting to share with all of you. So enjoy my random thoughts.

- I am slightly obsessed with the new TLC show Sister Wives...check it out...it's about a piligamist family (which btw- Mormons do not practice-just to clarify) and it's really interesting.I really like that family.

- I got my first Christmas cards today and they literally made me smile...and maybe squeal a little with joy...i love Christmas cards!

- Today for the first time ever Lucy got mistaken for a boy....darn I thought I had dodged that bullet! (and yes she was wearing some pink) The lady even went as far to say she was " the most handsome little boy she has ever seen" And I didn't have the heart to tell her Lucy was a girl...so I just smiled.

- The other day Erik was carrying Lucy and we were walking down the street and Erik started singing a son from Wicked really loudly...and it was really embarrassing me (it was a fairly busy street) and I kept asking him to stop and he wouldn't, so I (shamefully) resorted to hitting him on his shoulder...but I forgot Lucy was there in his arms and i smacked my baby right in the face!!! (disclaimer: it really was not that hard...) but...i felt AWFUL!!! i almost stared crying. Lucy of course started screaming crying from either the pain or from the shock that her own mother just smacked her! She was rather cold to me the rest of the day, but I deserved it. I felt reeally really bad! (in fact I can't believe I am admitting it.)

-We finally got our ornaments on the tree...and it looks wonderful!!! I love Christmas time!

- We played Nertz with some friends the other night and I have forgotten 1. how much I love that game, and 2. how good I am at that game! Yay for cards, baby monitors, and close neighbors!
