Stranded at the Drive-In...

Okay- we didn't really get stranded but we did go to our first Utah Drive in Movie!!! Yay!! It was so fun! We went with my best friend from High School and her soon to be fiance. We love Cameron...and Lauren and it was just a great night. We borrowed my parents van, put the seats down, got a bunch of treats and settled in for a double header. "Up" and "The Proposal" We almost didnt make it in. The guy in the booth took our money then told us it was actually sold out for trucks...I said well we are in a VAn....haha ...he let us through because of my wit and charm I'm sure. The movies were both pretty good. I had issues with both of them but overall they were good. Erik wasnt too happy because we didnt get home until 3:00 in the morning. We just teased him that we keep him young!
For old times sake. This is how we used to take all our pictures together in H.S.

sparked an idea

I made my first mini book this week. I think it turned out great! I love it! This is for our Bishop's wife in my ward. They will be leaving us soon. So this is a thank you card/book. What do you think?

Now to the sparks....making this has inspired my idea for what I am going to do when I move to Virginia. None of the jobs or schooling options i looked into felt right, but I have to do something...So i am doing something I have always wanted to do....but would never succeed in Utah. I will be starting my own Boutique!!!!!! I am soo soo excited. More details to come but just know I am siked!! Whether I fail or triumph I am just thrilled to get to stay busy doing something I love...CRAFTING!! Any ideas...advice...tips???

It's been a while!

I know...I know...I haven't blogged in sooo long! And so much has happened. Well i finally got around to blogging it all today. So scroll down and read my past 6 posts...they are all new! Enjoy! And i love comments so please leave comments! :)

So long...Farwell! :(

Such a good example to his little boy cousins!

It was an awfully long Farwell celebration yesterday! It began with a family and close friends brunch. yumm yumm. Then off to church where my amazing brother gave an amazing talk that made us all cry and feel bad about ourselves because if Nathan think's he is not perfect then the rest of us dont have a chance! Then my brother insisted that we stay for all of church (darn that good boy!) Then we came home had a little dinner and then had a party with people in the ward. It was so good to see old friends from VA! We were all so tired after a long long day! I love my brother so so much. He will be an amazing missionary! He is such a great example to me, he is such a great kid. Anyways...I love him and will miss him dearly!! :(

Announcement....

This week I successfully did my first french braid!!! woo woo! I know pathetic!! My mom still french braided my hair until I has 18!!! Sad! I never learned how and finally just tried it this week because I got inspired by Jennifer Aniston from He is just not that into you, to do my hair like this:

SO cute!! This is getting really popular and I love it!

Btw: He is just not that into you was surprisingly good! We saw it on the airplane on the way home from VA. I did not have high hopes for it since I really dont like any of those actors/actress but I ended up Loving it!! So did Erik! I was pleasantly surprised at the lessons they taught, i thought it had a great message. I just wish that skanky Scarlett Johanssan didnt have to be in it with her little scene. (why does she always play a dirty girl?) eww.

Anyway...YAY for french braiding!

Lisa's Luau!!!

I dont know what this face is I am making!?! haha
Lisa having fun with the hula dancer...yeah she was white, but she was good!! She came with a Hawaiian man who we later learned was her fiance and they were LDS?!! crazy huh! haha

Me with the Birthday girl!

Random picture of my brother in law Brett....but I thought it was such a cute picture!

Wahoo!!! luau!!! (i wish we would have got a picture of my suit...i really like it!)

We made a quick trip home to VA last weekend to go to Erik's sister's baby blessing- which was wonderful. And to celebrate our sister in law Lisa's 30th birthday. The theme was luau complete with a pool, limbo, hula dancers, and my favorite... Marigurita machine. (virgin of course!) yumm yumm. We had tons of fun and even though it was short it was worth it to celebrate with Lisa! I love her so much!

Before I forget....

While I am in a blogging mood I had a few other random thoughts these past few weeks that I want to share.

1. What is up with all this rain?? Seriously I think I need to start building an Ark. It has been raining everyday for the past few weeks!!! This is seriously affecting my summer tan plans.

2. My parents always say that they would have married me off at 16 if they knew that being married would make me be the way I am now....they think I transformed over night from a bratty teen to a wonderful, responsible, thrifty, and helpful wife. Anyway- they laugh at me and my coupon/deal shopping and now they have introduced Erik and I to Dave Ramsey...and much to there surprise I LOVE IT!!! Dave Ramsey is a radio host and a motivational speaker on financial planning. Erik and I are listening to his c-ds. We have learned so much!!! It is so great. We have never been good at budgeting but his c-d's have really helped us. 2 Saturdays ago we sat down to work out our budget and no lie were doing it for 4 hours!!! And I loved it. My parents were shocked! Anyway, I highly recommend his c-d's. They are funny, entertaining, and really really insightful and helpful. I have already learned so much. It's amazing how many people are not smart with there money. It is amazing what you can do if you are smart with your money.

3. Over a month ago now a woman came and spoke to us at a Stake Enrichment activity. She has a book about streamlining and organizing. Ever since then I have been so motivated to get rid of stuff and clean up our space. She talked about instead of doing the household shuffle to get out the household SHOVEL! A lot of the time when we organize we just shift stuff around, she explains there is such a weight lifted off us when we simply GET RID of stuff we dont need, want, use, like or have room for. She wants you to go into each room of your house and touch every single thing and ask yourself "do i want, like, need, use or have room for this?" It's amazing how often you will think...No! So then give it away or throw it away. I really appreciated her insights and have tried to take them to heart.
It's hard cuz I am a big time pack rat...and so is Erik. I thought it was so funny, she talked about the reasons we keep things: beacuse we spent good money on it, aunt betty gave it to me and might be offended if I give it away, or because someday we might need it. I ALWAYS think these things!! These are not good excuses! I loved how she taught that you will probably need it someday but someone needs it today so...give it away!! I even made some money on clothes that I let go of. It is so hard for me to get rid of clothes, but I finally did it and took them to plato's closet and I made $104.00!!! Awesome huh? So it sure has paid off to get rid of everything I dont need, want, like, use or have room for. I now can enjoy not only my organized space but my empty space. I have learned to value space and only use it for things I really want, need, like or have room for. It really is quite a relief. I love living clutter free! So come to the ward drop and swap in the D basment this weekend to get some of my junk! haha.

I also FINALLY put together a large 72 hour kit for Erik and I. (with a lot of the junk in my closets!) It feels so good to have that together as well.

What will I ever do without Albertson's?

2 crazy friends to go dumpster diving with me

About 7 hours of planning/shopping

about 8 trips to albertson's in the past 2 weeks
=
ALL OF THIS FOOD FOR ABOUT $20!!!! (I lost my paper of exact numbers- but this is close) Holy cow!!
Albertson's has been on fire latley with double coupon weeks and crazy deals. We also have found TONS of rebates this month! So put those together and we are getting a bunch of free food!! A few times these past few weeks I have had Erik go with me to get my deals and after going about twice, once we get to the checkout he says: "can I go sit in the car?" haha. He gets so embarrassed!!! He hates getting in line, holding up others, coupons not working so his wife harasses the cashier until they will give her what she wants...etc. haha! And I LOVE IT!!! It is so fun to me. I hope to be able to do it when I move to VA! And I need to stop going because I dont think Erik is thrilled about moving all this food across the country in a few weeks! haha.

Bee's Game!!

A While back now we went to a Bee's game with our good friends Rach and Dave Young. It was so good to see there cute faces again! We love them! I liked the fireworks WAY more than the actual ball game but hey it was just fun talking to Rachel! We will miss you guys!!! Here are some pics from the game:

They are kinda in love...it's sick!
