Have you ever?

Have you ever found yourself WATCHING a work out video instead of DOING the workout video. I have.

I found myself trying to do this workout video...

but i kept stopping, only to find myself staring, jaw dropped enamored with the womans belly moving up and down, no- practically folding into itself as we practiced breathing. What the heck? How on earth is she doing that? Needless to say I turned it off feeling like a failure! Today I went for a walk outside instead...much better! :)

Have you ever gotten on the scale at the gym to check your weight and literally laughed out loud?!
I have.
It was hilarious! People were giving me very strange looks...as especially in a large t-shirt I don't really look pregnant yet. I mean it's crazy, every time i get on a scale and see such a big number (for me) I am so amused and try to hold in my giggles. It's like "wow I can't believe I am really that big, this is awesome!" I guess It's just so real, like I never thought it would actually change that number on the scale. haha. I don't know I swear im losing my mind! :)

Have you ever peed your pants while reading this:

okay-it was close! I was crying though! I hope no one is offended by her. I think she is hilarious..it's basically a big joke and her prey is people kinda like me X10...but I still think it is so stinkin funny. You really should not read on a full bladder. Her birth story back in March is probably my favorite.

Have you ever tried to take a picture of your own pregnant belly?

Well this is what you get:Wow these look way awkward...but you get the idea. I was too impatient to wait for Erik to get home. I am 25 weeks today and have gone through quite the growth spurt. Which has caused for a little bit of muscle cramps and pain in my upper ribs and sides. I am dealing with it though, nothing a little tylenol doesn't help. I am just expanding.

Have you ever boughten a recalled crib for your baby to make money?

We have! I am glad I did my homework because not only is it preventing us from putting our baby in a recalled crib it made us money! We picked up a crib off craigslist for $125, it also came with a mattress. Both had only been used for 3 months. Well the crib was recalled so we turned in the parts for a rebate to Babies R Us for $242.00 towards a new crib. We picked out the crib we liked the best there (see above), which also ended up being one of the cheapest. (sorry against maybe wise advice- we decided to go with white!)So we spent no extra money on it. So in the end we got a brand new crib and a practically new mattress and cover for $125.00. SWEET!!!! It pays to do your research. Now I just need to tackle the stroller/carseat battle.

Little Things

Here are a few little things that have made me smile this week. Making some Valentines Day decorations with friends. Isn't this wreath to DIE for? My favorite word to describe it is simply luscious! I LOVE IT! See how to make it at theidearoom.blogspot.com
I can't rotate this picture for the life of me. But i made this cute little board in like 30 min. yesterday, isn't it cute? I love my Silhouette!

Okay, so i know what you are thinking, "wow a lot of work for a little "to do" notebook that would function just fine without all the frills." I know, I know, I used to think that to, why waste time on making everything cute, but I think I'm converted. I LOVE this notebook, i carry it with me everywhere I go and it's so handy to write absolutely everything I need, think, want, in one place instead of scattered sticky notes everywhere. It's really helped me stay organized and I smile everytime I look at it. There is something about making everything in your life beautiful and your own. Cheesy I know, but I think I am going to start doing this to more of my everyday stuff. It makes me want to use it more! I have felt so good lately, I have really started this year off right becoming more dedicated and sticking to a schedule and getting SO MUCH done! It feels so great! I know I will be glad I worked so hard now to get things done and change my lazy habits before Lucy comes.
I have had the same makeup bag since I was 13, no lie and I swear it was growing things inside of it. So i finally bought this adorable new bag at Old Navy last week for 44 cents. (yep that's right, I scored at Old Navy last week-see below) It feels good to have a new, clean bag. Just another little thing that makes me happy!

It's been my goal lately to try a few new recipes a week. Here was one of our favorites! We used to have these with friends (they would make them) In Utah and they were always So good. So we gave it a try. They were super easy and fun to make and were sooo soo delicious. Probably my favorite food ever! It was perfect because it had been in the 60's that day that we decided to make them so Erik went out and barbecued them and he did it perfectly! OH i am still dreaming about them! And aren't they so pretty? (You can tell which ones are mine can't you! lol)
And last but not least...this picture represents my favorite little thing of all....the little thing in my tummy that wont stop talking (aka kicking) to her Mommy! Well first of all I went a little crazy last week and shopped the Old Navy sales until I dropped. I think last week I was in 2 diffrent old Navy's, 3 different days, for a total of about 7 hours. ( I am not exaggerating) I ended up with way too many clothes and kept sorting through it all and cutting stuff out and returning etc. It basically consumed my week and even resulted in a melt down where Erik intervened. But...after alll that I am happy with the handful of outfits I kept and the price I paid. I mean literally every little thing I got was under $4 dollars! How can you beat that? This outfit is one of my favorites! I can't wait to see her in in! ahhh! I can't fathom how tiny she will be! So i was going to post a picture of my receipt from Old Navy but this post is reserved for only little things and that receipt is twice the length of me (again not an exaggeration.)

But really, I have gotten so excited for Lucy to come lately. I feel like I have already developed a relationship with her. Even though her kicking and 24-7 moving can get a little bothersome at times, most the time I love that reminder that my little baby girl is right inside me. I even find myself talking to her sometimes. I already feel like she is my little girlfriend that I can joke with and love and just play with. Ahhh! I can't wait for her to get out here! Anyway, I am so grateful for all the little things in my life that are bringing me such great joy!

Look what the cat dragged in!

This is what I saw when I opened the back door at around 6:00 the other night. Ahh!! Who is this crazy person....with socks on there hands!?! lol. Erik apparently was in a rush and forgot his gloves this morning...rode is bike to school which froze his fingers, so on the way home he got creative and decided to take off his socks and put them on his hands!?! haha! On top of that he wears his HUGE sweats over his scrubs and a coat and his scarf and just looks like a bundled up snow baby who can't move. Not sure how he rode a bike home like that. I started laughing SO hard when he walked in! Haha, i just think it is hilarious how homely he looks except of course his random burberry scarf he got from Christmas from his mother. (He simply asked for a scarf and that is what he got! lol. He didn't even know what it was or how much it cost until I told him-such a waste) OH thanks sweetie for letting us laugh at you! And please remember your gloves next time (for all our sakes)

Also (random)- anyone of great ideas on how they organize there wrapping paper, gift bags and tissue paper etc. I don't have tons but would like to keep it all together in a concise, organized way. :) Thanks! Have a great day!

"ooooohh were halfway there!"

(name that song)

Belly Bump-22 1/2 weeks

So, awkward pose, but i wanted to show you the curve in my back. Is that normal? It looks so weird. Like my booty sticks out and i can't correct that curve in at my lower back. It's gross. Is that bad? I have really bad posture. Also don't worry mother (and grandma K, and Knudsen Aunts) I wore a jacket over this shirt to church. I didn't wear that tight of a shirt out in public. (my family was commenting on how prego girls wear such tight clothes this days) Well when I haven't broke down and bought hardly any maternity clothes my options are limited. I think I am going to finally buy some stuff at Old Navy this week though. Any good pregnancy clothes tips? Especially for jeans?

Here are a few (not very good) shots of the quilt I am making for Lucy. The lighting is hard to really see it but you can get the idea. It is really simple I might add some appliqué flowers or something over top once it is finished but first I need to start assembling it! But here is the basic idea of the colors (mainly pinks and creams with a little purple and a green border). I want to base her room colors around this. That's another question I have, any one know some great blogs or websites with good ideas for decorating a nursery? Googling it is not going to well, and I am sick of pottery barn. I am starting to clear out our extra room, I want to get working on all this "nesting" stuff before I am too big and lazy. I don't think I will feel any better than I do right now!

Uhh that was soooo last year!

Be Prepared for a lot of pictures, in random order of our wonderful Christmas Break. I don't know what we will do once Erik is not a student anymore and we don't get 3 weeks off from School. It is fabulous! We were so grateful that my parents were able to fly us out to spend 2 1/2 weeks with them. We loved every min. of it! So let's re-cap. There is a really great outdoor rink near my parents house that we have gone to for the past few years. It is really fun. The best part is that it only costs $1 so you don't feel like you are wasting money when all you do is go around the rink a few times then take those horribly painful skates right off!! And momma always supplies yummy hot coco. (don't mind how chubby I look-i really hate being cold and probably have on about 6 layers of clothing!)
I got this cute headband thing with some christmas money I got. I LOVE it! But I am grateful to get to wear it here in VA. now and not in Utah...everywhere I went I ran into at least 4 other girls wearing it. (I'm not kidding)
Aren't these kids the cutest? I love them. Oh and I swear I do have 2 other brothers around...I should remember to take more pictures of them. (they are just not quite as cute as these 2!)
My grandma made this Quilt for Lucile. It has really soft fabrics. I love it! Thanks Grandma K!
Ahh! There those other 2 boys are...I guess they are pretty cute too. Christmas morning at the Jewkes house. It's so fun to still have little kids at home to watch open there gifts.
The sibling exchange-Yay! Just what I wanted the Taylor Swift C-D. (love it!) And, Erik got a guitar book and the under armor he is sportin. Thanks Noah and Gracie! We also got some money from Mom and Dad! Thank you!!! :)

Gracie checking out her stocking.

What a cheese!
Stockings! Remove that piece of paper labeled Erik and underneath you will find the name "Nathan." haha. Thanks Nate for letting Erik borrow your stocking while your gone...Santa's very creative. (and cheap!) lol.
Christmas eve-acting out the Nativity. Isaac was Joseph and this was the Angel (Gracie) appearing to him...they couldn't stop laughing at each other during the narration. It was so cute.
Christmas Eve at Aunt Heidi's and Uncle Marks-always the best! :)
While we were there my Best friend from High School got married!! It was so so great to be there for her on her perfect day. She looked gorgeous and it was just a happy day!
I got special access to the bridal suite! yes! BFF's only!
I love this temple, so breathtaking!

Before we left for Utah we had our own little Christmas at home. The best present that day was finding out we are having a little girl. But here we are on our "Christmas" morning exchanging a few gifts. Erik gave me this Beautiful necklace. He picked it out all on his own. I LOVE it! He also wrote me a poem about the necklace and how it represents motherhood and love and all that. He is actually really really good at poetry. It was a great gift!
Up close.

He tricked me and put it in a big box!
So out of order-but here is Erik with all his little gifts.
Look at these expressions! Priceless. Erik is the best person to give a gift too because he always acts SO excited and makes you feel like you just gave him the best present in the world. He loves everything and anything! He like drools over the littlest things! I love it!
Our New Years Eve was uneventful just a lot of game playing (which is heaven for me) and of course watching the ball drop. We also went sledding/4 wheeling a few times with my family, saw the forgotten carols, watched a lot of Jazz games, shopped, ate out, watched movies and just enjoyed being together. It was a great trip. I wish I had taken a picture with my mom because I just love her, I could spend all day every day with her and my husband...which I did a lot out there while the kids still had school and my Dad had work. I sure married my momma! It was good to see my older brothers too, they are really fun and great to play Wii and other games with. It was just a good relaxing vacation. I thought after 2 1/2 weeks I would be sooo ready to come home and be soooo sick of my family, but not at all I cried for days after we left. Things are back to normal and it is good to be home but, I can't wait for our next trip out there which will be with little Lucy!

Lil Lucy.

Is it just me or does it look like i have a baby monkey or some sort of ram/sheep in there? She has got like a huge mouth/nose snout. And see that curly ear? Hopefully all that will evolve before she is born. haha. I still think she is cute!
Not the greatest pictures I have seen, but I will take em. It was soo much cooler being there live watching the screen as the Ultrasound lady looked at everything. I swear I could have laid there all day! I loved it! So the good news is that everything looks normal and great and she is still a she! Yay! The bad news is that she is crazy! haha. The lady kept saying that she was one of the most wiggly babies she has ever seen. She was like "She is making my job difficult!" haha. The lady said that it was good because that meant she was using her muscles a lot and would be strong. I am kinda worried though, not really, but I am just wondering does anyone know if like being too active is a bad thing? I mean anytime I hold still long enough I can feel her moving around in me, a lot. Erik can even feel her kick already (that started at like 19 weeks.) Like what if she doesn't sleep? Could I be feeding her to much sugar? Or is this all just normal and I shouldn't worry about it. (and no comments (Mom) about how she is just MY child) haha. But can it just be that, personality already? I dunno, any thoughts are welcomed.
These are her adorable little chicken legs crossed and her tinsy little feet. See it? Ahhh so cute!
So here are some facts:
Girl-confirmed (i was worried)
15 ounces
She will be 22 weeks tommorow
140 heart beat/rate
Measuring for May 15th
She is Breach right now (which they tell me is no big deal)

Just grateful and thrilled to have a healthy, all functioning, wiggly little baby!!!

Also- ignore my post 2 below this. I am feeling fat now! I am in an awkward stage where my jeans don't fit but maternity pants fall off me. So I will be living in sweat pants for a little while. I really need to go maternity clothes shopping. I am putting it off though, i am worried about the cost and I guess I feel like I should wait until I am bigger. SO don't mind my sweat pants and too tight of shirts.

We have arrived.......to this lovely stage. yuck. (AND NO THIS IS NOT ME!!!!!) Oh let the fun begin! I think I keep waiting for that "cute" belly stage to come, and I am started to feel like I should just enjoy the now and stop complaining because it's just never going to be cute. Right? Uggh..belly pics to come. warning, it's pointy and ugly and my whole butt and hips are just huge, and I know no one can tell but me, but I am def. not going to be one of those "it's all just in the belly" cute prego ladies. Hate to disappoint but, Alas.

Feeling Fabulous Challenge

I am so glad I found this challenge on the Somewhat Simple Blog.

I really wanted to come up with some sort of "program" for myself to stay motivated and accomplish goals, and this is just what I needed. I love that I can know that I am doing it with other woman and she has even made it into a little competition. Check it out! Its a weekly checklist of goals that you get points for every task completed daily. I can't wait to start!!

Here's to 2010!!!!
