I knew it!

So this WHOLE time I have had Lucy I have been worried about my long hair and how I have heard that the strands can get tightly wound around fingers and toes and if not removed quickly-can cause the toe/finger to FALL OFF!! So I am always checking her toes and fingers- especially since I have a LOT of hair and after having a baby my hair was shedding EVERYWHERE!!! So this was one of the factors in me wanting to cut my hair (I recently chopped about 7-8 inches off!) Well of course a few days after this is what i find:

a strand of hair wrapped around her 3rd toe..two times!!! Who knows how long it had been there, I would like to blame it on my old hair probably on the ground. Most likely, right? I mean seriously? My worst fear (maybe slightly dramatic) was realized after I chopped my hair off and had stopped worrying! Sheesh! Of course I just un-wound it and it was fine. It left a mark for a few hours though. Poor girl! Needless to say I did a very meticulous vacumning job afterwards and we haven't had any scares since. (I still check her toes frequently though!)

A form of torture...

But how cute is this?? I got this hand me down costume- an adorable little flower...but my care free, easy going Lucy... HATES IT! WHAT? Since when does she care and get all particular? So I have another idea up my sleeve- featuring an adorable little get up my aunt gave her. But I had to try this one, and since we have a few Halloween parties to go to, I may try this one again and see if she takes to it better the second time, because seriously...SO ADORABLE!!

And now I am happy to report she wore this costume to "music time" today and didn't complain a bit...so I guess i just picked the wrong time to try it on her. Glad she warmed up to it.

Fall is my favorite season by a long shot...everything about it is exciting and beautiful. Picking pumpkins at a pumpkin patch is one of my favorite things about living in the east. You don't just get your pumpkin at the grocery store- you can go pick the perfect one after taking a hayride out to a beautiful patch. I love this fall time tradition! Happy Fall!

2!...6!

This post is basically shameful and embarrassing, unfortunately I need to document my husbands birthday so...here it goes. yes I am an awful wife- I didn't know that we were out of candles, oh except this lovely number 2?! Which I am not even sure where it came from!So just pretend (like Erik had to) that there is also a 6 next to that 2. We did go out to dinner on his big day..thanks to my parents for the gift cards!! That was fun, but then he left me to go to an intramural football game! (which, btw I would normally go to, but Lucy was sick!) I know this picture is blurry but I wanted to show my mom my haircut!
So ladies- I don't know if your husbands are like this but Erik is IMPOSSIBLE to get gifts for. He always say's there is nothing he wants! And when I did think of things it was things he needed/wanted before his birthday. SO it was one of those birthday's where you remind them of those socks you bought them a month ago was there birthday present! LAME! I know. Erik just doesn't care-(about his own birthday) So it has made me not care as much, but day of I feel awful! So I need to remember to still make a big deal out of his birthday's even if he protests and says he needs nothing etc.

On that note- here is another one of those "remember this was for your birthday" things. We re-planted grass (which it looks even better now) It looks soo good! We also planted mums and a few pansies. I think it looks AWESOME and Erik is obsessed with his grass! He really enjoys this kind of stuff and we both get joy out of looking at our beautiful yard.

So, although the birthday was lame- it in no reflects my love for my wonderful husband. I really am a lucky girl. I got a great guy who I love and adore and makes me want to be better everyday. Happy 26th sweetie!

added note: we did go out this weekend again for his birthday to a yummy and very nice Japanese Steakhouse and then we also went and played some arcade games at Dave and Busters...better? (thanks to Danielle for watching Lucy!) We had a great date night!

Party like it's 1950!

Erik's sister Laura turned 30 this month and so of course us Fox's had to go ALL OUT! (thanks Mom Fox!) They threw a big 50's themed birthday bash! It was the talk of the town! We are lucky we got invited! ;) Thanks for giving us a reason to party Laura and happy 30th birthday!!! The party was complete with 50's outfits, a milkshake/old fashioned soda station, and dancing! It was really fun!

White Coat Ceremony

White Coat Ceremony= initiation into the dental clinic. I am very proud of Erik and how hard he has worked to get to where he is today, which is starting assisting in ACTUAL dental work!

"Here Comes the Airplane!"

It's Offical! These are words now often exclaimed at meal times at our house! So just last week we started Lucy on some rice cereal. I was a little nervous about it becuase a lot of people told me that it can be kind of hard for them to get and a bit of a battle for a few days. Well I should have known, not with Lucy! She LOVED IT! She had nooo problems! My Mom said "is anything with that baby difficult?" Lucky for us...not really.

What a cute mess! So we can add this to the list of way's that she is like her daddy....a great eater and lover of food!

Since she rocked this I think fairly soon we will move on to more flavorful things....hopefully fruits and veggies will go just as well. But since it is Lucy we are talking about, I am going to just assume it will...what a wonderful baby. I keep being told she is spoiling us, and I will take it!!! :) Thank you baby Lucy! We love your cute messy face!!
