Photo's

The mother of the family that I nanny for had a birthday also this week. I thought she might want some updated pictures of her kids to frame. And let's be honest I have been dying to get some more practice. So after some teeth pulling convincing I got the kids dressed up and took them around in the freezing cold to take some pics. These are some dang cute kids! Here are a few of my favorite. I am proud to say I didn't take any of these in "auto." I am still learning, and i swear it was cloudy all day until we went outside to take pictures, so there are some shadow issues, but some of these are not half bad. ( I like them a lot more in black and white, but i am too lazy to change them all) Just pretend.

Im Legal!

That's right 21!!! (i did it backwards the first time!)

These cards = 21!!!! Wow I am good!

This week I turned 21!! It was a great Birthday. I spent the morning with my mom we shopped and went out to lunch. (Always fun) Then that evening Erik took me out to Olive Garden (my favorite) to eat. When we got back to our apartment I found 2 glasses (on coasters- good boy!), a deck of cards, some money, and some sparkling cider on the coffee table. I asked "what are we doing" Erik replied with "well for your 21st Birthday I thought we would do the 2 things you are allowed to do now...drink and gamble." haha. So we played the card game 21, 21 times and each time i won i received birthday money. And before each round we had to take a shot of sparkling cider, (that's 21 shots) which i really don't even like that stuff, so it felt like drinking. (Don't people always look like they are forcing shots down there throat but are not enjoying it!?) That's what I felt like. By the end i was like please don't make me drink anymore! The night was so fun. My husband is so creative and cute. ( Although if there are any Gilmore Girls fans out there-this all sounds familiar doesnt it? He swears he didnt get his idea from that!) Anyway the best part was i ended up winning 21 dollars!! haha. I was like wow i am not very good at this game and that is not a whole lot of money to go shopping with but i wouldnt take the rest because it just seemed so perfect to end with that! Yeah now i just want to o clubbing once for fun...any takers? Thanks to all you made my Birthday Special. I have a great ward and great friends who also really made me feel loved on my birthday! Thanks everyone!

Wish i was Skiing

I cant believe it has taken me this long to post about something that happened 2 weeks ago and was an amazing experience!! I...Nichole Fox...after living in Utah for the majority of my life...for the first time ever..WENT SKIING! Yay! My good friend Rachel took me. She was so nice and so patient with me. She taught me so well! Alta has a free ski everyday from 3-5 just on the bunny slopes to help beginners learn to ski. It was great. The first hour was a little rough (falling down on the tow rope was not one of my proudest moments.) I was sure Rachel would just ski away and act like she didn't know me as people tried to get around me..laying right under the tow rope...in everyones way. (evertime I tried to get up my head would hit the rope) A pretty hilarious site I am sure. And especially in Utah when you have 5 year olds whizzing by you and here I am almost 21 and I spend most of the trip with my hinder on the ground. haha. Oh man it was pretty funny. And the lift...scariest thing every! Why is there no bar that comes down in front? Seriously? I thought i was going to die. Let's just say I had a pretty good grip on that arm rest and I was'nt letting go even to fix my fogged up goggles. But once we actually got on the Bunny hill and I got going it went really well. It was an awesome feeling to just be gliding across the snow, going side to side down the mountain. It was really fun. I am still really bad at the steep hills...they scare me, i dont trust myself going that fast..so i purposly fall to stop myself. (ouch) But i made it down the bunny hill once in the 1 and 1/2 hours we were there. haha. I really had a great time and I just keep telling Erik..."i want to go skiing again!!" I cant stop talking about it. It was so fun, Iwould love to get good. Anyway there is my adventure! :)
Look how much I look like a beginner in this picture! haha. I love my weird bent knees! But Isn't it beautiful!?

Run for Red

Erik decided about 2 weeks ago that he wanted to run a 5k in a fundraiser race for the red cross. He had never ran a 5k before, and just started "training"/ running a little bit ago on a regular basis again. So our expectations were low! He just had the attitude of having fun and "not coming in last!" haha. Well my baby did awesome!!! His time was 20:13 and he came in 11th overall and 6th in his age group. GOOD JOB BABY!!! I was so proud of him. It was so much fun going and cheering him on and watching him run. He was a little disappointed in his time, and he even said he didn't really feel tired, like he paced himself to much and should have gave it more. So wow...who knows what he can really do next time!?! It was a fun morning and he has now signed up for a few more races this spring. I cant wait!
