Our Family's 7th Birthday!

I had heard an idea from a friend where you celebrate your "family's birthday" on your anniversary as a way to involve the kids and make it a family day. Well lucky for us this year Erik was able to arrange his schedule to have our 7th anniversary off. We made a whole day of it starting with the National Zoo and a Picnic under the Washington Monument. How cool is that? I love D.C.!

At the Zoo we saw the Orangutans crossing these ropes way up in the sky. It was so cool to watch! A whole crowd gathered and ooh'd and ahh'd until one of them pooped! ;)

What's more American than flying a kite, and having a family picnic under a national monument? I was just soaking it all in as I watched these two running around. I couldn't help but think how grateful I was for my family, this country, the beautiful earth, oh life is just good.

I mean look at these two cuties? I am one lucky girl!

I am grateful to have Grandparents near by so we can go out on dates once in a while. We celebrated that evening as a couple over Outback steaks and Sweet Frog Ice Cream. It was a very Happy Birthday to the Fox Family indeed! ;)

I love the idea of celebrating your family's birthday! I hope to do something like this when I get married and start a family.
