We went to pick up our truck and were shocked to see how small a 17ft truck was. There was no way our stuff was going to all fit! But they had no other trucks available so we had to try our best! Luckily we were not moving far. We immediately called our storage unit and got double the size! I guess we had a ton more stuff than I thought! ha!
The men were getting all the stuff out fast but it took 3 hours to play tetris in the truck making sure everything fit just right! I was really nervous at this point as the truck was nearly full and all this was still on our lawn. uh oh!
I don't know how they did it...but 5 hours later they did it! We did end up having to borrow a friends mini van, take out all the seats and load it up as well. Thank goodness for great friends!
Poor Erik was up with me till 1am cleaning the apartment then woke up at 5am drove up the van and unloaded it into the unit by himself, drove home 2 hours, returned the van and picked up the moving truck and headed right back up to meet the group helping unload the truck. It was a crazy day!
Lucy and I driving up after locking up and saying goodbye to our home. I was bawling my eyes out and Lucy was hungry so desperate times call for desperate measures- I handed the kid the whole bag of Lucky Charms! ha!
It was a sad day. I loved our apartment in Richmond. I love that that was the place we brought Lucy home from the hospital and met so many wonderful people and saw so many awesome things. It was the greatest 4 years of my life thus far. There will always be a special place in my heart for Richmond.
