I have to admit Virginia parades have nothing on Utah parades in my opinion (probably because they don't throw candy.) So, I was hesitant when Erik told me about this Richmond Christmas Parade, but it seemed to be a big deal and the senior Missionary couple in the branch were bringing some less actives and were willing to stake out a spot for us early in the morning- how could we not go?
It was actually a really big parade (2 hours long) and was super fun. Lucy loved it!
I am glad we did it before we left Richmond.
Sis. Dunkley made goodie bags for everyone with snacks while we waited. Yummy!
Lucy perfected her parade wave!
My favorite was all the bands.
As you might have guessed Richmond has a ton of diversity and it was all represented.
I loved the school marching bands!
Oh but you should have seen some of these schools outfits for their color guard/dance teams- they were AWFUL. Like skin tight body suits plus some risque dancing- it was awkward to say the least.
And my favorite- the bagpipes were also played!
My lens was not a great one to capture the gigantic balloons in the parade. They were Lucy's favorite.
She saw Frosty and Rudolph! (which she is obsessed with this year- squeal!)
And of course at the end she even saw the big man himself!
Perfect morning for a parade and the perfect kick off to December!
