Ready to Go!

I'm all stripped and ready to go!!! ;)

I got my membranes stripped this afternoon. (not as bad as I thought-btw) I am still dilated to a 2 and about 50% ephased. So far, no contractions.
Erik has this whole week off of school (he got to take his last final early, on Friday) SO we have really been enjoying ourselves just hanging out. It has been really great. I know really soon we wont get the luxuries of sleeping in, doing what we want, when we want, and just sitting around talking, playing games, and watching movies. It's been really great to have this time with him.

Anyways- so he goes back to school on Monday and my Mom comes Sunday evening so we are going to push the matter with Lucy. I am a little scared of induction because I really don't want a C-section, but Erik and I both feel that she ain't coming out on her own, I trust my doctor who thinks my odds are favorable, and this is just more convenient for us, so we are just going with the following plan:

This Thursday night I will check into the Hospital at 5:00. They will shoot a gel up there that is a cervix softener. It goes really slow and basically I should be able to have a normal night. Then around 2am or so they will come in and start me on Pitocin. Then hopefully my doctor will show up first thing in the morning and hopefully my body will be progressing enough for her to break my water. Then it should all be history from there. My Doctor expects her to arrive by the early afternoon on Friday. So the best laid plans....right?? but I feel pretty good about this. We shall see how it all goes down. Either way I am soo excited and ready to meet our little girl!! So unless any contractions kick in soon the next time you will hear from me will be this weekend with pictures of Lucy Loo!!! :)
Here are a few last min. projects I have made this week!
Car seat cover. (sorry for the awful picture-I was too lazy to take it out of the car!)

Wipe case cover. So cute right? I love the flower on it. My friend Sara showed me how to make those...I see some bows in Lucy's future that look like this flower!

tu-tu for some newborn pictures!

Burp clothes. I just took some of the Gerber cloth diapers and sewed a strip of cute fabric in the middle. haha. Real easy!

We are all decked out and ready for you Lucy!!!

Your chances of a successful induction at 40+ weeks are very good. I tell my friends that if they do go the induction route, wait until 40 weeks. Most of those inductions do NOT lead to C-section. I hope she comes on her own before then, but if not, hopefully your labor will go smoothly. Maybe we'll have our girls on the same day (I can only hope!). You should make those burp cloths for baby shower presents. They are super cute. I could totally make them but never would find the time. They'd make a great gift for someone who has more than one child because the crafting hours in the day are very short once you have kids (at least for me). Enjoy your last 2 days!

Ok we were exactly the same! I was dilated to a 2 and partially effaced and I was induced (at 39 weeks). I was nervous about that making my risk for a c-section greater as well. From the way you described it, it sounds like you'll be the induced the same way I was. It was wonderful! I didn't feel like they hooked me up and then I was rushed into labor. It went nice and slow and my body adjusted nicely. I'm sure the same will happen for you!
You're so close!!! This is so exciting. Can't wait to see pictures of your darling Lucy!

Exciting! I am so excited to hear how everything goes. I hope it goes really well and just how you want. But, as a c-section expert, they really aren't that bad if it comes to it. Hopefully it won't though! Cute projects. How have we never gotten together for crafts yet?
