Erik and i have recently made a family plan. A list of everyday and monthly goals that will help us spiritually, emotionally and physically. We have checklists and calendaring sessions that help us schedule our busy lives to find time for the things we find important. This has been so good for our marriage, our home and our growth individually. I feel more accomplished as i make time daily and monthly to get the things done that i need to. Some examples of our daily goals are things like: leaving no dishes in the sink before bed, reading together, start getting ready for bed earlier, no shoes left in the front room, etc. Each night we go down the list and check things off. Some of our monthly goals are like: the 2nd week of the month to go to the temple, the 3rd week to find some service to do, ___day go on a date, this day go over our budget, etc. Anyways this has just been a good system for us that has brought us closer and more focused on preparing a righteous household and establishing a good family foundation. I would just like to share a scripture that we kind of based all this off that i really love and maybe you can find some inspiration from as well.
"Organize yourselves; prepare every needful thing; and establish a house, even a house of prayer, a house of fasting, a house of faith, a house of learning, a house of glory, a house of God." D&C 88:119
