Unusual Weather

I feel as though it has either been scorching hot or viciously stormy. 

In the past couple weeks we have had many days in the 100's. 

That calls for a whole lot of otter pops. 

Also we have had a couple terrible storms one even an actual tornado! 

That was a crazy day. 

It got so dark so quickly and the wind was blowing so hard and the rain was flooding down the streets! 

Lucy and I actually really liked watching the storm out the window and didn't really realize the severity of it until after. 

Erik was with a patient at the dental school and they had to all evacuated to the basement and sit there until the storm passed. It was the real deal. 

We are getting pretty used to natural disasters round here.

Since we have moved to Richmond there has been an earthquake, hurricane, and now tornado. 

It's kinda become a tradition to all come out after a storm and make sure everyone is okay, swap war stories, and assess the damage. Sometimes it feels dramatic- but we can laugh at ourselves. This time a huge branch had fallen really close by. The kids enjoyed climbing on it. All the kids kept saying "there was a Tormado!" It was a very eventful day.  

Our power was out for over 10 hours.

It was a little rough in many ways, but also kinda fun to just have each other to entertain ourselves. 

We played games by candlelight...how romantic. ;)
