A Wicked trip to New York!

As stated in an earlier post for my Birthday Erik and his family got my tickets to go see the Broadway Show "Wicked". So while we were in VA we took a day trip up to New York City to see Wicked. It was a really relaxing trip in NYC...if that's possible. We didn't want to try to do everything and we didn't have a lot of time so we just did Central Park and Time Square. It was so fun to walk around the big city with it's hustle and bustle. We got honked at many times and Erik even started honking just for fun. You also have to watch out for those crazy Taxi drivers! holy cow! I kept my eye out for famous people the whole time, because i am a nerd like that. But no luck there. In central park we walked around to all the places in the movies, took pictures and did the row boats. It was really beautiful. We also found some original New York Pizza...which is a must when you go to NYC. It was soo yummy and cheap! hehe. We also strolled down Time square and got charactatures drawn of us. We ate dinner at Olive Garden in Time Square which by the way is about 3 times the price of a normal Olive Garden. Oh well. Then of course we saw Wicked which was so amazing. It was so well done. I loved everything about it. I would highly Recommend seeing it...right now!

Nicole-I have this book of quotes I've found interesting, helpful, timely throughout my adult life and I was reading some of them yesterday and thought of you. I just felt I should share this one with you and I hope it's as helpful to you as it was to me at one point in my life.

"Don't look for a life virtually free from discomfort, pain, pressure, challenge or grief, for those are the tools a loving Father uses to stimulate our personal growth and understanding...Faith in Christ means we trust Him; we trust His teachings. That leads to hope, and hope brings charity, the pure love of Christ-that peaceful feeling that comes when we sense His concern, His love, and His capacity to cure us or to ease our burdens with His Healing Power." -Elder Richard G. Scott.

I know Mother's Day can be hard when you yearn for nothing more than to be a mother. I just wanted you to know that I was thinking of you this Mother's Day. Each day you are closer to the day when you will finally become a mother.

Hi Nikki! I met a friend who used to be in your ward in Wymount--Hannah and she told me you had a blog. We think it is so wonderful that you and Eric are married and enjoying life at Wymount. We lived there for two years and loved it. What a fun trip for you and Eric to see Wicked! Please tell your families hello from us. We love them and miss the ward in Virginia. We would love to have a old Centreville ward BBQ this summer so we'll keep in touch.
Take care,
Mindy (and Greg) Henry

nicole, I hope you read this cause I dont have your email :) It all depends on how much you want to spend. The Canon Rebel is great, but I have both a canon 30D and a 40D and I LOVE them. I think the rebel is perfect if you are planning on using it as a hobby, and the 30 and 40D make a great professional camera.

Let me know if you want on board at Stayner Photography! There is always room for a Jewkes/Fox!! :)

oh, and get them at COSTCO. they have great prices and a great return policy if something goes wrong!

they have some great kits there right now

Nikons are excellent cameras too by the way I just prefer Canon cause I am used to the buttons :)

Nikki! Hey you! I just started a blog and it has been so much fun to see all of our cousins on here!! You and Erik are so cute! I feel so bad that we lived so close at Wymount and still never got around to hanging out!! We're living in St. Louis for the summer but we are most likely going back to Wymount so we will have to make some time to hang out!! By-the-way I am so jealous you got to go to NYC and see Wicked!!!!
